All About Ian D Fay

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

Born on the banks of the Mississippi to a family of musicians, producers, actors and writers, he has a lineage to be proud of. From St. Louis to partial upbringings in Canada then Connecticut he finds his roots here in New England hills but musical influences from the Midwest. Particularly Chess Records and Bob Dylan. His original music is inspired from any given moment but there is also a deep love for classic folks.

As he taps into his lineage and passion for world healing through his unique sound, he has encompassed what it means to create art that may not be what you want to hear “Trendy” but what you need to hear. Telling his own truth and view of the world, and giving voice to the voiceless. Songs from his album self-titled album, This land is your land, what you want to hear and [You have no idea] What you do to me rings true to his sentiment for a joining of worlds in a ever-changing and what some may say a corrupt society.

Artist or activist, for those called, one and the same. Daring to take and shape a music world that has found a catchy tune or beat to be the ever flowing sound of silencing a generation(s) that should be questioning. Ian Fay captures the essence of what that feeling in the pit of your stomach is and why you need to curate the streams of information you receive and let that inner voice question the status quo.

His first lp, Ian Fay, continues to give gems with songs such as Corona Pneumonia Blues and Beyond Caring championing change and furthering discussion, while exploring its continued relevance for the times. From dust bowl to Covid travesties get lost in the track So Long Been Good to Know You [Put your mask on] and broaden your base. We, everyone that has loved, lost, looked for change in this day and age can find solis with songs on this album as it sums up with Amazing Grace to uplift and encourage us to continue our own journey so we can collectively heal the world.

Thanks for sharing in the dream of joy and music that fills our communities with love.
